What we do
The Center for the Humanities UDP is a space for the exchange of ideas and collaborative work between the world of academia and various cultural actors that works in a non-university environment. It is proposed to generate dialogues and confluences between disciplines and diverse professions, and between those who produce creative works and those who reflect on them, in order to stimulate intellectual life in its expressive and critical aspects. The Center for the Humanities has a group of collaborators that include editors, journalists and historians, as well as visual artists and writers.
In the context of the current university community, marked by the intense specialization of research and the consequent withdrawal of academic debate from external audiences, the Center for the Humanities represents an effort to strengthen the public dimension of thought and cultural criticism. For this, it develops research programs, teach undergraduate and continuing education, carry out extension activities, direct editorial collections, participate in public debate and stimulate cooperation with related initiatives, in addition to offering a web platform aimed at the generation and dissemination of cultural content and audiovisual material in line with its objectives.
